Dybala: "This was the Champions League of Juve. I'm ready to take the 10 of Pogba"

Juventus striker Paulo Dybala is ready to return to action this weekend against his former club Palermo. The Argentine has been speaking to Corriere dello Sport.

He was asked about his team’s six point lead at the top of Serie A to which he replied; “I would hope that would be enough now to win the championship. It would be incredible if we lost it now”. He added that; “The way the team has come back when everybody wrote us off is amazing. The way we have worked on the training field makes this Scudetto ours”.

When asked his desire to match the 21 goals scored by his predecessor Carlos Tevez in his debut season with the bianconeri, Dybala explained that; “I’m just three short and it would be great to reach that figure”. On the club’s Champions League exit in the last 16, he declared that; “When Barcelona were eliminated I held my head in my hands because I knew that this could have been our trophy this year. Now I hope Bayern wins so we can say we lost to the eventual winners”.

So how does he see himself at the moment? Dybala again; “I still feel like a little boy but when I enter the field I’m transformed. I will always have the pressure because of my high price-tag”. Finally, if Paul Pogba departs in the summer, will he take the number 10 jersey? “I hope Paul stays with us for many more years. Having said this even the number 21 jersey of Zidane and Pirlo plays the same role. I have no problems with taking responsibility but maybe someone stronger will arrive and take it”.
