    Alberto Gilardino is very much doing a Luca Toni. Just like his France 2006 strike partner, Italy's very own violinist just keeps soldiering on, and put in a decent shift in attack for Palermo this season, though he didn't score all that often and only really got going towards the end of the season, scoring a total of 10 goals. 

    Now, Florentine paper La Nazione claims that former club Fiorentina he has already netted 52 Serie A goals over a total of four seasons, may be interested in him. 

    Better, they are reported to have a front office job lined up for when the 33-year-old retires. With Giuseppe Rossi angling for more playing time and Nikola Kalinic in need of a breather, this could be a reasonable card to play for Paulo Sousa.
