Inter and Felipe Melo to part ways in January

Felipe Melo is set to leave Inter in the January transfer window. The Brazilian midfielder’s status has drastically changed since he joined Inter on a permanent deal in summer 2015. Former Inter boss Roberto Mancini  pushed for his purchase last year, but the former Fiorentina and Juventus man had already lost the starter status under the Italian manager last term before collecting just 192 minutes this season.

New Inter owners Suning want to sell the 33-year-old midfielder to the best bidder during the next transfer window. Felipe Melo is not on Inter’s long term plans as the club only want to sign new and young footballers and Melo does not match this description.

At this stage, there are no European clubs interested in welcoming Melo’s services. The player would like to stay at the club, but Inter don’t. Suning could decide to sell him to a Chinese Super League club or the player could decide to make return to Brazil. At the moment these are the only two options available for the troublesome midfielder.
