Inter could sacrifice Banega for FFP, €10m may be enough to sell

Ever Banega could leave Inter in January to help the Nerazzurri balance the books, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia).

The Argentine has found himself being benched by new Coach Stefano Pioli, who seems to prefer the dynamic duo of Joao Mario and Marcelo “#Epic” Brozovic.

The former Sevilla man joined on a free in the summer and, despite his indisputable talent, has found himself coming under fire for flitting in and out of certain games. Alarm bells were rung when he missed a dinner with sponsors on Monday.

Though that fire was soon put out (family reasons), and it has never been in doubt that Coach Pioli respects and appreciates his player, Banega could still be sacrificed at the altar of Financial Fair Play.

Needing to make something in the region of €25 to €30 million to balance the books, the Nerazzurri may well accept if someone were to offer them €10m straight for the 27-year-old, a decent [if tremendously short-sighted. Ed] deal for a Bosman acquisition.
