Mancini shoots down PSG link: 'A red herring'

Inter manager Roberto Mancini has denied that he is tempted by a move to Paris Saint-Germain in the immediate future. Speaking to assembled media in the Nerazzurri's pre-match press conference, the former Manchester City gaffer immediately shot down any notion of moving to the Parc des Princes in summer.

"Blanc has won the title and more, I think this report is a red herring, to say the least".

Asked about the current state of the team's affairs, he revealed that the 'real Inter' a journalist asked him about "was today's team, the one that is in fourth place. We had the chance to climb up the table, but we didn't succeed. This is Inter, we need to work hard to make that extra step. We're here because we deserve to be here, maybe the first half of the season was a bit misleading.

When the talk turned to this summer's transfer window, Il Mancio said that the current squad "is built around a very good base, those who arrive will have to be ready, even for key games.

"It's not my job to ask Thohir [about the club's future plans], it's the chairman's. I've come back to win, that's my priority. It's up to the chairman to decide what we can spend, we'll see from there".

Then again, Mancini did admit that the team would have to "look for reinforcements where it is weak, but this depends on the market".
