Napoli on the trail of Muriel

It’s no secret that Napoli are searching for attacking reinforcements in January and the latest name to be linked with a possible move to the San Paolo is Sampdoria frontman Luis Muriel. Tuttosport claims that vesuviani President Aurelio De Laurentiis is considering offering out of favour Manolo Gabbiadini in exchange for the 25-year-old Colombian who netted four times for the blucerchiati this season.

Gabbiadini burst onto the scene whilst at the port club which persuaded Napoli to part with €13 million to secure his services in the summer of 2015. With the recent injury to Arek Milik which will see him out of action until around February, the 24-year-old looked to have finally been given the opportunity to impress but this has spectacularly back-fired leaving out of the squad and out of favour with coach Maurizio Sarri.

Reports from the UK have also suggested that West Ham United are prepared to trade-in Simone Zaza for the Italian international but that Hammers boss Slaven Bilic remains unsure if Gabbiadini is the right man for the role.
