Next Italy manager: Gasperini and Mazzarri considered as possible successors of Antonio Conte

Who will be the next Italy manager? A number of gaffers have been linked with the Azzurri job, but there is no one at the moment topping Carlo Tavecchio’s wish-list.

Actually, the Italy FA President would like Fabio Capello to replace Antonio Conte, though the former AS Roma, Milan and Juventus manager has announced he’s not interested in leading senior Italy national team.

That’s why Walter Mazzarri and Gian Piero Gasperini are still considered as possible successors of Antonio Conte, as reported by Sky Sport Italia.

The former Inter and Napoli manager will see his contract with the Nerazzurri expiring in June after that he was sacked as Inter boss in 2014, while the Genoa tactician will probably leave the Marassi at the end of the season and is also a plausible candidate.

Claudio Ranieri, Francesco Guidolin and Giampero Ventura are still in race, but reports from Italy claim Marcello Lippi could be appointed as the Azzurri technical director with a less-experienced manager like Fabio Cannavaro, Marco Materazzi or Ciro Ferrara taking over from the next Chelsea boss.
