Paper talk: Del Piero says he could return to Juve, Torino’s Saponara interest confirmed

Juventus’ legend Alessandro Del Piero has released an interview with Il Corriere dello Sport talking the current shape of the Old Lady as well as a possible return to his old club.

“I’ve got a long-distance relationship with [Juventus president] Andrea Agnelli so we don’t meet very frequently. I am not disappointed by the club. They made their choices, I made mine and I am happy with my life. Could I return there? Never say never I don’t want to put a limit to what can happen in the future in any field.”

“I didn’t expect Juventus to invest so much money on Higuain. It was a brave call because they know and he knows that no mistakes are admitted now. Higuain can give a lot because he’s at the peak of his career and he looks in sync with his new teammates.”

In a separate interview released with Il Corriere dello Sport, Empoli DS Carli has confirmed that Torino were interested in signing Saponara last summer.

“I’ve received a call from [Torino DS] Gianluca Petrachi. Maybe it was just to have information as he didn’t return to me afterwards. Saponara means quality and talent to us, but he will still be playing with Empoli this season, then we’ll see.”
