Paper talk: Mkhitaryan to Man Utd is a done deal, the reason why Brocchi has resigned as AC Milan coach

Manchester United have completed the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund, today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport claims. The Armenian star will move to the Old Trafford for a fee of € 38 million. Mino Raiola’s client had is contract expiring in 2017 and did not want to extend his deal with the Bundesliga giants.
According to the Italian paper, Manchester United will announce the signing of the 26-year-old star in the next few days, when also Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to announce his arrival at the Old Trafford. Both players are clients of the Italian players’ agent.

We’ve already reported that Cristian Brocchi has resigned as AC Milan’s coach. Silvio Berlusconi has asked him to wait for a couple of days more in order to convince the Chinese consortium to confirm him for next season, but chances to see it happening are not very high.

La Gazzetta dello Sport
reports that Brocchi has decided to step down as rossoneri coach for two reasons. The first one is that he knew  Berlusconi was the only one who wanted him in charge of the team for next season and with a couple of teams that had asked for his services, he did not want to lose time and the opportunity of getting a new job.

Secondly, Brocchi had asked to sign Lapadula, but no one informed him about the striker’s acquisition. He knew about Lapadula’s arrival from newspapers, like any common supporter. That’s when he took the final decision and informer Berlusconi about his intension of leaving AC Milan.
