REPORT: The Madison Square Garden Company interested in Milan takeover

    • Lorenzo Bettoni (@lorebetto)
According to Milano Finanza, Milan’s deal with Mr. Bee is on verge of collapsing as the Thai entrepreneur has failed to find partners who could join him in the acquisition of the 48% stake of the club, worth € 480 million.

The Italian website suggests that the deadline date is set to be on the 30th of November and if Bee Taechaubol won’t find all the capital required within the end of the month, the deal will definitely fall apart.

The Chinese bank Citic initially showed their interest to partner with Mr. Bee in Milan’s takeover, although they recently withdraw their commitment, while the Thai broker was also discouraged by the recent inquiry of the Milanese public prosecutor’s office involving his Swiss’ consultant.

According to MilanNews.it, The Madison Group showed their interest to acquire the club, but no official talks between the two sides have been held yet, as the club’s president Silvio Berlusconi is still hoping to close the deal with Mr. Bee.

In the meanwhile, the mediator in negotiations between Milan and Mr. Bee, Mrs.Licia Ronzulli, released an interview with the Italian paper Libero:

    Wil Berlusconi sell the club?
“Yes, but only a  part of it.”

How did he convinced Mr. Bee to pay € 480 million in exchange of the 48% of the club?
“He didn’t, Mr. Bee was the one to propose himself. The brand’s commercialization
potential in China is so huge that it can represent a good investment for them.”

It is a fact that the deal is not closed yet.
“You can’t close these kind of deals from one day to another, it’s something very complex, that requires time. I can’t say anything else, I am a bit superstitious.”
