Roma DS Sabatini could join AC Milan by the beginning of the January transfer window

AS Roma director of sport Walter Sabatini could leave AS Roma, La Repubblica reports. Sabatini was close to leaving the club last January when president Pallotta replaced sacked Rudi Garcia with Luciano Spalletti who eventually convinced Sabatini to stay at the club.

Trouble is, Roma have also hired Franco Baldini as external advisor, but the former Spurs director has taken part to many transfer negotiations this summer, especially those of Szczesny and Wilshere.

Sabatini is reportedly considering leaving the club before his contract with the club expires in June 2017. Lack of incentives and the lumbering president of Baldini could convince Sabatini to cancel his contract with the club.

New CEO Marco Fassone is in desperate need of a director of sport to be tasked with the jobs of following each kind of transfer negotiation and with Sabatini considering Roma exit, Fassone could offer him the rossoneri job with the current Roma DS who could be in charge for AC Milan’s transfer negotiations from the next winter transfer window.

That would be the end of the Galliani’s era.
