Roma legend Totti: 'I would like to become a manager'

During a long interview given to the Corriere dello Sport, AS Roma captain Francesco Totti has talked about his future: “I don’t know what will happen. I know that it will be something nice, another life, another career. Honestly, I don’t know what I will do, I would like to stay at Roma forever. I want to help the club where I spent most of my life. Do I want to become a coach? One one hand, knowing my personality, I don’t know if I would be able to manage a group. On the other hand, I see my former team mates who have become manager, and maybe something happens when you quit playing.”

Totti has also talked about his future: “Was I really about to join Real Madrid? It was 2003, it was a particular moment for what concerns my relation with the club. I made some requests and they didn’t want to accomplish me. Real wanted me badly, and it was the only team in the world that could convince me to leave Roma. Finally, my friend and my wife helped me to stay at Roma.”
“Would have I made it away from Rome? No, I say no, but by that time I was determinated”, he added. “I was not going to a normal club, but to the best one in the world.”
