One of Italy's most popular and respected football commentators has sung Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri's praises, on the day in which the former AC Milan gaffer signed an extension with the Bianconeri.

Fabio Caressa told Sky Sport 24 that “AC Milan collapsed after Allegri left. He took the team to third place... and that squad isn't much different to the one Milan find themselves with today”.

Allegri was hardly a popular choice when Juventus decided to appoint him in the summer of 2014, following Antonio Conte's departure from the J Stadium.

However, with the Livornese Coach winning two Serie A titles by a country mile and taking the Bianconeri to the Champions League final last season, public opinion has begun to view Allegri in a more favourable light.
