Spalletti: "Dzeko is the prototype striker. My team as a whole are better than Pjanic"

Roma boss Luciano Spalletti has been talking to Bosnian portal Oslobodjenje. The main topic of conversation was about striker Edin Dzeko and the Tuscan tactician explained that; “If a coach could create a prototype of a striker then it would be exactly like Dzeko. He is perfect; strong, tall and very quick for his size, aggressive but with good technique. He still lacks that killer instinct in my opinion and we need him to show this characteristic more often on the field”.

Spalletti was then asked about the summer rumours linking the big Bosnian with a move away from the Eternal City, he stated that; “His attitude was fundamental for me. I liked the fact that he wanted to stay at Roma and he proved to me that he still had the desire. Edin was honest with me because he realised that last season was a poor one for him. His response was what I wanted to hear and now his teammates have accepted him like one of the family. Edin is a good man, a great person with high human values”.

Finally, a word about the Bosnian who left the club in the summer, midfielder Miralem Pjanic; Spalletti explained that; “My team as a whole, is better than Pjanic, including the merchandise sellers. I’m not angry with him but I’m the coach of Roma and all those who play with the club are better than him. Pjanic is a top player, a champion but for me, my players are the best in the world”.
