Three Italian managers shortlisted to take over at Chelsea

José Morinho is walking on this ice following yesterday’s Chelsea home defeat at the hands of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. In the previous days, the club’s owner Roman Abramovich was reported to have handed an ultimatum to the Portuguese manager who would have been sacked in case he would have failed to win against the Reds.

No official decisions regarding Mourinho’s future have been taken yet by the West London club, but it is quite clear that the 52 year old time at Stamford Bridge is over.

According to the Italian newspaper Il Corriere della Sera Chelsea might approach three Italian managers in case the Portuguese boss is sacked. Carlo Ancelotti, Antonio Conte and Roberto Mancini are reported to have been shortlisted to take over at the club following Mourinho’s departure.

Carlo Ancelotti has been in charge of the Premier League club already and he could be tempted by another experience in England as he recently declared. The former Milan boss, by the way, has also stated that he is taking a sabbatical right now and that he will looking for a new club only starting from next season.

Similarly, also Antonio Conte could sit on the Blues’ bench, but only after having tried to snatch a EURO 2016 title in charge of Italy national team next summer.

Roberto Mancini seems the most unrealistic option as the former Manchester City manager is quite a centerpiece of Inter project.

Will the next Chelsea manager be among these three Italian gaffers?
