Capello: 'Benzema starts over Morata because of Florentino Perez'

Former Real Madrid and Milan Coach Fabio Capello has made a stunning revelation.

With fans of the Merengues beginning to rally around ex-Juventus man Alvaro Morata, Capello is the latest to make it clear why Real are still opting for Benzema, beyond his seniority.

The Italian Coach has Zinedine Zidane choosing Benzema because he’s a favourite of president Florentino Perez’s.

“Having to choose between Morata or Benzema is a dilemma every Coach would like to have,” he told Fox Sports Italia, “I think Zidane has found the right solution”.

    What would that be?

“He starts with the Frenchman, especially because he’s the president’s favourite, and then throws the Spaniard on in order to turn the game.

“I think it’s the right tactic, and the results are proof of that”.

So far this season, Benzema has netted four goals in 12 games this season, having started 9 of those. Morata, for his part, has scored seven times in 15 games, though he’s only made six starts.

Think the Spaniard is doing better?
