Chelsea, Liverpool target Kondogbia: 'Talk to me, not my agent'

Inter midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia has issues a strong rebuke to his agent, Jonathan Maarek, about a potential departure from Inter.

Speaking to France Football (via ESPN) yesterday, Maarek claimed that Inter was just a “stepping stone” to “bigger clubs”.

It was up to the 23-year-old to react last night after the Milan Derby (via Goal.com):

“I am the player, so you have to listen to me, not others” Kondogbia told media straight after the 2-2 draw.

“If you have something to ask, then ask me, and listen to what I have to say!”

Maarek had dropped quite the bombshell when speaking to France Football beforehand:

“I would be lying if I said Geoffrey is going through the best moment of his life.

“But this is a very important time in which to develop, because it is when you go through difficult times that you become stronger”.

Kondogbia has struggled since moving to Inter Milan in the summer of 2015, despite costing €31 million, a sum which could rise to €40m with bonuses.

“During his career he has done nothing but progress since the beginning.

“His arrival at Inter was another step towards getting to one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“That was the plan and it still is.”
