Courtois put Chelsea contract talks on hold amid interest of Real Madrid

Today’s report from The Sun is not going to leave Chelsea fans satisfied. According to the British tabloid, the Belgian goalkeeper has put new contract talks with the South West London club on hold amid interest of Real Madrid.

The LaLiga giants are reported to be looking for a replacement for Keilor Navas and Chelsea’s goalkeeper Courtois tops the Merngues shopping list. Real Madrid, however, have been handed a two-window transfer ban and are unable to register new signings until January 2018.

Having still 30 months left in his contract with the Premier League giants, Courtois is reportedly in no rush to pen a new deal with Chelsea, especially because the Stamford Bridge hierarchy are said to have offered him a two-year contract extension with no pay rise.

Courtois’ teammate Diego Costa, on the other hand, is likely to commit his future to the Premier League table leaders signing a new contract with Chelsea.

The Sun’s report, however, does not match with that one of the Telegraph that claims that both Diego Costa and Courtois are going to sign new deals with Chelsea.
