Everton prepare offer for former Juve target

Having been a target for Juventus in the closing days of the summer transfer window, Steven N’Zonzi’s future may now lie back in the Premier League.
Reports in today’s Sunday People suggest that Everton are lining up a January assault for the 27-year-old defensive midfielder, currently plying his trade in Spain with Sevilla. New director of football at Goodison Park Steve Walsh has been an admirer of the player since his time as head of recruitment at champions Leicester City and reports now suggest he is ready to try to lure the Frenchman to Merseyside.

N’Zonzi, who made 109 appearances for Stoke City, has the characteristics that please new Toffees boss Ronald Koeman, although the Spanish outfit have recently inserted a £20 million plus buy-out clause in his contract. With Everton being bankrolled by wealthy businessman Farhad Moshiri, they would have no problems meeting asking price for a player who once enquired (unsuccessfully) about the possibility of playing for England.
