EXCLUSIVE Romano: Napoli join Juve in hunt for PSG's Rabiot

The Adrien Rabiot saga continues. Having been linked to a number of clubs, including Arsenal, Juventus and Roma, the 20-year-old prospect is now being linked to Napoli.

We can confirm that Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli called PSG recently to inquire about the troublesome star, who despite some playing time in the Champions League still rots on the Ligue 1 side's bench.

Rabiot has long been fed up with his situation at PSG. He barely plays (he was previously loaned to Toulouse for six months) despite the enormous potential that is always associated with him. He's only played 60 Ligue 1 games since making his debut in 2012, netting six goals.

His agents have been looking around, prompting Napoli to get involved. Maurizio Sarri wants a midfielder for January, a young prospect who can be a Plan B in case he needs to try the knuckle ball.

PSG, however, have no intention of letting him go, as they would need to look for a new replacement for Marco Verratti, among other things.

We can also reveal that Juventus had pretty much arranged for Adrien Rabiot's move to Turin a year and a half ago: everything was done and dusted, before the Bianconeri spoiled the relationship between the two clubs with the Kingsley Coman deal.

Basically, PSG renewed Adrien Rabiot's contract just out of principle. Chairman Nasser Al Khelaifi went as far as to prohobit any departure, effectively torpedoing Roma's chances of grabbing the young French star.

That said, Juventus have a great rapport with Rabiot's mother (who is also his agent) and are still on his case, though their midfield already contains a Ligue 1 star (Mario Lemina) who needs time to show what he's made of.
