Francesco Totti drops hint that he may not retire at the end of the season

Francesco Totti has revealed to Sky Italia that he may not retire at the end of the season. The Italian legend’s contract with AS Roma expires at the end of the season and the club have already offered Totti a role in the club’s control room.

The 40-year-old striker, however, may wait a bit longer before hanging his boots: “Nothing can be taken for granted in football. Everybody thought I was done with football last year, but I’m feeling ok, I am fit and I trust my body.”

“Everybody is entitled to have his say, but if I am feeling good, why should I retire? I can still be helpful for the team.”

In the end, Totti was also asked what AS Roma are lacking of to be at the same level of Juventus: “We should just have more self belief.”

Totti has spent his whole career playing for AS Roma. He’s a product of the club’s academy and has 250 goals in 750 games with the club.”
