Napoli: Everton target Gabbiadini can leave in January, but not on-loan

The January transfer market is fast approaching and Napoli are preparing to go in search of a striker. There could also be a departure with Manolo Gabbiadini rumoured to be ready to head to pastures new to try to resurrect his career. The 24-year-old striker could actually start Wednesday evening’s Champions League game at home to Dynamo Kiev despite the speculation surrounding his future.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis has a soft spot for the player however and despite his drop in form, will be reluctant to see him leave the San Siro. What is quite clear is that the patron will not allow Gabbiadini to leave on a loan-deal, whoever wants him (and there are many admirers) will have to pay at least €15 million. The idea of a player exchange has been reported but this could cause complications because of the various evaluations. It will be difficult to find any buyers in Italy but the Premier League is a different situation altogether. Everton sought him last summer and coach Ronald Koeman could make another assault in January.
