Growth of Hernanes takes a step back against Udinese, but boos not helpful

Before yesterday’s Udinese clash, Hernanes had been delivering some very positive performances, so much so Allegri started him for the third successive game against Udinese.

The Brazilian had been thriving in the regista role, a position that many Juventus midfielders are struggling to cover. Hernanese seemed to be the best answer to the Old Lady’s needs.

The former Inter ace released an interview with JTV last week saying that he wants to have an important role and a strong impact for his side this term.

Trouble is, Hernanes failed to live up to expectations against Udinese and fans watched the player they did not want to see anymore. Slow, distracted and superficial. Take a look at Jankto’s opener to have an idea about the Brazilian’s attitude in yesterday’s game.

Hernanes did not play well and fans hit out at him once again. Supporters, however, should ask themselves whether boos can be helpful to raise the player’s performances. It is a fact that after the first boos of the night, Hernanes’ performance got worse and worse yesterday night.

It is always the same old refrain: is it worth booing a player who is clearly struggling during a game? Shouldn’t fans help their lads rather than attacking them?
