Injured Montolivo replaced by Torino sensation Benassi in Italy squad
The AC Milan midfielder clashed with Sergio Ramos in the first half of yesterday’s friendly between Italy and Spain, and was forced to leave the pitch.
His knee having troubled him a lot of late, the former Fiorentina captain has been allowed to leave the Azzurri, and will be replaced by Marco Benassi of Torino, who recently played for Italy’s Under-21s.
Montolivo will, meanwhile, wait for the results of his latest medical, to see what the damage is.
Milan fans can only keep their fingers crossed.
