Real Madrid, OFFICIAL: Renewal for Bale

Now it’s official. Gareth Bale has renewed his contract at Real Madrid. The 27-year-old has penned a new deal which will see him remain at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2022. The club announced the news via their official website this morning and the player himself will speak at a press-conference on Monday at 13.30.

Since joining the Spanish giants in 2013 for what was then a world record transfer fee, the former Southampton trainee has won two Champions League titles, one Copa del Rey, a FIFA Club World Cup and a UEFA Supercup. His goals to games ratio in the Spanish capital is absolutely stunning having netted 50 times in 90 appearances.

His future at Los Blancos has been in question of the past few months with stories linking him to a possible move back to the Premier League with Manchester United. After an unforgettable summer with his country at Euro 2016, which saw Wales reach the semi-finals, Bale’s stock has continued to rise. This latest announcement however, will now allow this unassuming young man to concentrate on wrestling back the Spanish league title from bitter rivals Barcelona.
