    REPORT: Arsenal chase Milan talent

    Arsenal have joined the race for Manuel Locatelli, Goal.com are reporting. 

    The 18-year-old AC Milan prodigy is tipped by some to become a big star. With 14 appearances, two goals and an assist for Milan's Primavera (Youth) team this season, a number of Rossoneri fans are looking forward to the day that he starts for the first team. 

    The Gunners' interest will, however, likely be rebuffed: the Rossoneri see Locatelli as indispensable to their future, despite their tendency to sell off some of their young assets (Stefano El Shaarawy, Hashim Mastour) of late.

    For the Guardian, Paolo Bandini relayed the thoughts of Mauro Bianchessi, the club’s head of scouting, on Locatelli. “He’s a bit Pirlo and a bit (Riccardo) Montolivo,” he said, before adding: “He can be the next captain of Milan.”
