The talk surrounding Ever Banega is that he's practically an Inter player. After an extended courtship which DS Piero Ausilio had discreetly begun in December, the Nerazzurri came close to signing him during the winter, only to baulk at Sevilla's rumoured €5 million asking price in favour for waiting for summer, when the playmaker will be available on a Bosman.

Inter are confident that their 3-year, €3-million-a-season deal will suffice to deter the Argentine from listening to other offers... but they're not the only ones hatching plans to get a hold of the 27-year-old's services.

If El Desmarque is to be believed, Barcelona plan a swoop for the Albiceleste international, and plan to use his friendship with Lionel Messi as an incentive.

Banega is a well-respected creative midfielder, capable of revolutionising any midfield... except, ironically, Barcelona's, where he'd arguably be just another good player. Were he to make the move, however, he would join Croatian Ivan Rakitic, who has been a huge success despite the scepticism surrounding his move to the Camp Nou.

Sevilla themselves are holding onto a last thread: they hope Champions League qualification will alllow then to offer the Argentine a whopping FOUR million to stay at the Sancehz Pizjuan.

Either way, Inter fans, ye have been warned!
