Revealed: Why Juventus have an advantage over Milan, Inter in race for Caldara

Juventus have an ace up their sleeve in the race for Atalanta youngster Mattia Caldara, according to local sources.

With Atalanta rising up the table, a number of their players have come under scrutiny from Serie A’s elite. This includes Roberto Gagliardini, Franck Kessie’, Andrea Conti and Mattia Caldara.

The Bergamo Post (via TuttoJuve) claim that the Bianconeri have an advantage over the competition: they can include Leonardo Spinazzola in the transaction, the 23-year-old winger already on loan at Atalanta, and being employed more and more by Coach Giampiero Gasperini.

The Bianconeri would obviously have to add a cash component to the deal, but there’s more: they’re also willing to leave the centre-back Caldara in Bergamo for another season, even two.

The 22-year-old is being chased by a number of elite Serie A clubs, including Napoli, Inter, Roma and AC Milan. He’s played nine league games this season, averaging a 6.5 mark from the Gazzetta dello Sport, a freakishly high number.
