AC Milan building new-look midfield: all the names

The appointment of Vincenzo Montella is the beginning of a new era at AC Milan or, at least, that’s what all the rossoneri fans hope.

The Italian manager will be looking to build a new, strong, modern and dynamic midfield and lot of player are being linked with a move to the San Siro in the summer.

Italian transfer pundit Alfred Pedullà insists Axel Witsel is the priority for the Serie A side. The Belgium International runs out of contract in 2017 and wants a salary in the region of € 4 million. Zenit have set the player’s price-tag to € 25 million.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Leandro Paredes and Piotr Zielinski are two more names added by Adriano Galliani on the club’s shopping list. The first one costs € 20 million, the Poland International’s price-tag is in the region of € 16 million, but he’s already negotiating a move to Liverpool.

AS Roma have not taken AC Milan’s interest for Adem Ljajic very well. The giallorossi want to sell Ljajic to permanent deal to Torino (€ 7 million) and the interest of AC Milan would mean Ljajic could prefer to join the San Siro outfit on a loan deal.

Former boss Sinisa Mihajlovic, not the manager of Torino, wants second-choice goalkeeper Gabriel as well as Juraj Kucka.

Some players that Montella coached during his previous experiences in Serie A are also linked with a move to AC Milan: Borja Valero, Mati Fernandez, Milan Badelj, Roberto Soriano and Fernando are all on the manager’s watch-list.
