All the names for a low cost AC Milan

AC Milan fans were quite optimistic at the beginning of the summer transfer campaign as a Chinese consortium was supposed to complete the club’s takeover. Negotiations, however, took longer than expected and the optimism of fans has turned into bitterness on the down of a new campaign which does not begin in the best way possible.

With no money available, Adriano Galliani is forced once again to find some reinforcements on the free agents market. Villareal informed AC Milan that they are not going to give Mateo Musacchio out on loan. The Argentinean is another transfer target that vanishes alongside Piotr Zielinski who will undergo Napoli medical tomorrow.

Galliani is also trying to sell Bacca or De Sciglio, the only two players in the squad who can attract some sort of interest in the European market, if none of them will be sold for € 30 million, the rossoneri will have to complete this summer’s transfer window signing players for free or on a loan deal.

Vincenzo Montella needs at least one new defender. Martin Caceres tops the rossoneri shopping list, but Fiorentina are also interested in signing the Uruguay defender who has been offered a three-year, € 2.5 million deal.

Alvaro Arbeloa has already reached agreement with the Serie A side, but the Chinese consortium has put the Spanish’s arrival on hold due to his age (33). Inter’s Andrea Ranocchia had already come close to joining AC Milan. He could move this summer on a loan deal.

Montella could ask his old club Fiorentina the loan of Nenad Tomovic, but Fiorentina are not open to sell the player on loan at this stage and the same goes for Mati Fernandez, another long-time target of Montella. Viola and rossoneri could enter new transfer talks in the last day of the transfer window.

As for midfield reinforcement, AC Milan are still monitoring Mateo Kovacic despite his agent’s denial. Real Madrid will sign a new midfielder (Moussa Sissoko?) and the game time for the Croatia International will be further reduced. Real Madrid could loan him out adding a buy-back clause, like they did with Alvaro Morata to Juventus (even if the Old Lady paid € 22 million for the Spaniard in 2013).

Clement Grenier is also on the diavoli shortlist. The Frenchman had been struggling with injuries in the past, convincing Lyon that he could also leave the club on loan with buy-out clause (maybe set to € 7-8 million).
As far as the attacking block is concerned, AC Milan need to sell one of their strikers (Bacca, Luiz Adriano or Matri) ahead of signing a new winger.
