AS Roma, Florenzi knee surgery successful: the recovery time

AS Roma star Alessandro Florenzi underwent a knee surgery on Friday morning as he had picked up an anterior cruciate ligament rupture during the last Serie A game of AS Roma against Sassuolo on Wednesday.
Florenzi, 25, underwent surgery at Rome’s Villa Stuart. The operation was conducted by doctor Pier Paolo Mariani’s staff.

The surgery was successful and the versatile Italian player will remain out of action for four months at least despite the club’s medical staff had claimed that the Italy International would have returned to action in 100 days.

Florenzi has 13 appearances in all competitions so far this season. He has also registered three assists in Serie A and scored one goal in Europa League.

AS Roma will be looking for some potential replacements for Florenzi and reports are suggesting that Maicon could make a shock return to his old club to cover the absence of Florenzi for the next four months.
