Drogba makes peace with Montreal Impact

According to ESPN, peace has broken out between Didier Drogba and Montreal Impact. The 38-year-old striker refused to sit on the substitute’s bench last weekend when coach Mancosu dropped him from the starting XI. Club President Joey Saputo explained that; “Didier has realized that he must accept the decisions taken by the coach and the role that he thinks are best suited to him. Didier stated that he came to this club to win trophies and that remains his objective. Our priority now is to focus on our last game of the regular season and then the play-offs. We are convinced that with the squad we have we can succeed”.

Drogba has been a revelation since joining the Canadian side, scoring 10 goals in 18 appearances this season but he has not started a game in the MLS for over a month and last weekend’s events sparked rumours that he was set to leave the club at the end of the season. Napoli are thought to be interested in taking him on a short-term loan after the injury picked up by Polish striker Arek Milik.
