Van Persie set for Feyenoord return

According to reports from The Sun, Dutch striker Robin van Persie could be on the verge of a return to Feyenoord.
Speaking after his current side Fenerbahce had beaten his former side 1-0 in the Champions League this week, the 33-year-old explained that; ““Coming back to the Netherlands is becoming an increasingly more serious option, and then only to Feyenoord or Excelsior.” The player has been in sparkling form this season and shows no sign of slowing down despite entering the twilight of his career.

In a glittering career, van Persie became a firm favourite at both Arsenal (where he scored 96 goals in 194 appearances) and Manchester United (48 goals in 86 appearances). He claimed the 2013 Premier League trophy with the Red Devils and the 2005 FA Cup with the Gunners. Since his return to Istanbul in 2015 the big striker has netted 22 times in 42 appearances.
