Juventus fans breathe a sigh of relief as Leonardo Bonucci injury not serious

Juventus fans can breathe a sigh of relief after becoming aware that Leonardo Bonucci’s injury is not as serious as they had feared.

The Italian centre-back was replaced in the 60th minutes at the Allianz Arena, where Germany trashed Italy 4-1 in a pre-EURO 2016 friendly match yesterday night.

Juventus have released a statement on their official website ruling out any serious injury for their defender.

“After sustaining an injury in yesterday’s international friendly match between Italy and Germany, Leonardo Bonucci underwent medical tests to ascertain the extent of the damage. These ruled out any muscle tears. The defender will now rest up for three days before easing back into the team’s training schedule”

Having received his 5th yellow card in Serie A games this season against Torino, Bonucci, 29, will serve a one-match ban next week-end when the Old Lady will host Empoli in a J Stadium clash.

Scorer of two goals in competitions this term, Bonucci has been linked with moves to Bayern  Munich and Chelsea.
