Man Utd open to defender loan

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport, Manchester United are open to offload Italian right-back Matteo Darmian on loan in January. The former Torino star has been struggling with game time under José Mourinho so far this season and is being heavily linked with a return to Serie A where both Juventus and Inter are considering signing him.

The Italian paper claims that Mourinho is open to give the player away on loan despite refusing to sell him on a temporary deal in the summer transfer window, when Darmian was also chased by Serie A giants Inter.
Darmian, 26, is an Italy International and a product of AC Milan academy. He had an impressing start to the season under Louis Van Gaal last term, but an injury and the arrival of José Mourinho have affected his stay at the Old Trafford, so much so Darmian’s experience in the Premier League is said to be close to the end.

Juventus and Inter are keeping a close eye on his situation. The Old Lady is looking for a long-term replacement for Stephan Lichtsteiner, whilst Inter need to add quality to their flanks and Darmian tops their shortlist for defence reinforcement since last summer.
