Napoli look to replace Koulibaly with Zouma

Napoli will lose defender Kalidou Koulibaly in January; but we’re not referring to the transfer market, instead we’re referring to his participation with Senegal in the 2017 African Cup of Nations. According to reports on SportMediaset however, the vesuviani are already thinking about his possible replacement and the player at the top of the list is Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma.

The 22-year-old suffered an horrific knee injury at the start of 2016 that has seen him side-lined for almost a year. During his lay-off, much has happened at Stamford Bridge and despite the Frenchman going on the clubs pre-season tour, his chances of breaking back into Antonio Conte’s starting XI remains unlikely.
The West London rejected the advances of Schalke 04 to take him on a loan-deal at the start of the current campaign but it’s clear the player needs to build up his strength once again and now the Italian tactician may be open to a short-term switch to Serie A for the rest of the season.
