The shadow of extortion on Juventus: Caceres allegedly pictured with a 17-year-old girl

It looks like Martin Caceres can’t stay away from troubles. The Uruguay International was reportedly pictured with a 17-year-old girl in 2014 and pictures are believed to have been used to blackmail Juventus, La Stampa reports.

Police have added this investigation to a bigger case that concerns alleged Mafia infiltrations in some of Juventus’ organized group of fans.

The events took place in 2014 when a man walked into the ‘Mondo Juve’ store in Vinovo, but was blocked by security agents at the entrance of the store. They called the police minutes later saying that the man was claiming that one of Juventus’ players had a relationship with his under-age daughter and that the dad was arriving at the club’s headquarters.

“Although the girl’s family seems not to have any links with Mafia families who are already under investigation in the case, the way the man came into contact with the club’s staff and the club itself, suggest that he could be in touch with some Mafia families and that he might have organized the whole thing to blackmail players and chiefs of Juventus”, a report written by the police reads.

A few days later, Caceres was asked by Juventus’ chiefs about the presumed relationship with the 17-year-old girl, but the player denied that something between them has ever happened and that he could prove what he was saying.

Caceres and the girl, however, are believed to have had their first meeting at the parking of the ‘8 Gallery’ in Turin. More meetings followed the first one and some of those were pictured and filmed by some girls’ friends and the girl’s daughter.

It has also emerged from some leaked phone calls that one of the girl’s friend had tried in vain to sell the pictures to a journalistic agency for € 20.000, whilst the dad was insisting that he wanted to meet Caceres in person, adding that he had pictures of his daughter and the footballer, but denying that he had anything to do with the daughter’s friend attempt to sell them.

On the 11th of March 2014, police identified the girl who confirmed the meeting with Caceres. Police are still investigating the case.

Caceres' Juventus contract was not extended last June and the 29-year-old is currently looking for a new club to join.
