    FOCUS: is Mascherano using Juve to obtain a better salary from Barça?

    Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu considers Javier Mascherano a key player for his team, and for this reason –as reported earlier- who wants to sign the Argentine will have to pay his €100m release clause. On the other hand, the 32-year-old has expressed the will to leave the blaugrana, so Bartomeu is intentioned to meet the midfielder and offer him a new contract.
     
    On the other hand, Juventus have a gentlemen agreement with the former Liverpool man, even though they are aware that it won’t be easy to sign him: of course, the bianconeri have no intention to pay the clause, but they know that if the player will ask to leave, they will have to deal with the Catalan club, and spend at least €25 million.
     
    But, most of all, the Serie A defending champions are hoping that Mascherano is not playing the same game he did with Napoli: use his suitor to obtain a better deal from his club.
