    AS Roma news: Kevin Strootman set for contract extension

    AS Roma central midfielder Kevin Strootman could extend his stay at the Olimpico signing a new contract in the next few days, when Giallorossi president James Pallotta is expected to land in Rome, La Repubblica reports.

    According to the Italian newspaper, Pallotta promised the Holland International a new contract when Strootman, 26, was out of action with a serious knee injury.

    Strootman could only show little of his talent since he joined the Olimpico in 2013 as he underwent three knee surgeries since then,  missing the last couple of seasons. His € 2.3 million a year deal with the Giallorossi runs until 2018.
