Nemanja Matic at all costs and while there is still a window of opportunity, Juventus will try to get their man. The Serbian midfielder is the right choice to replace Paul Pogba in Turin and that is why Marotta and Paratici will not let go in their quest for the 28-year-old.
Juve has once again contacted the agent of the player to offer a contract in excess of €3 million per season; a salary which is certainly greater than the one he is currently on at Stamford Bridge. Matic is keen to move to Serie A and is set for showdown talks with boss Antonio Conte who will try to persuade him to stay in London by outlining how important he believes he is to the team. Juve waits patiently for this latest response from Chelsea because if it’s another “no”, then they must turn their attentions elsewhere.
A name still in the bianconeri notebook is Wolfsburg’s Brazilian midfielder Luis Gustavo. The 29-year-old is ahead of PSG’s Blaise Matuidi in the current standings with the French champions refusing to part with their talented Frenchman. Juve have already begun talking to intermediaries representing Gustavo who is also wanted by Inter. Axel Witsel, a name that has been heavily linked with Juve this summer, looks to be more distant than ever despite the players desire to head to Turin. Matic for now, remains priority number one.
