How can Montella say no to Fabregas?

The injury of Riccardo Montolivo is a big problem for AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella as the rossoneri  do not have a natural, experienced replacement for the Italy International.

Manuel Locatelli is the only one who can naturally cover that role in front of defence, but he’s 18-year-old only and Montella should play Jose Sosa over him in the next Serie A game against Chievo Verona.

The January window won’t be any helpful either. Signing Milan Badelj might be harsh even if he’s the priority of Vincenzo Montella who prefers to sign the Croat rather than Chelsea’s Cesc Fabgregas.

The Spaniard can’t play in front of defence, but he’s been linked with a move to AC Milan for very long time, even when AC Milan were not only doing business with friends or signing free agents.

We don’t understand why Montella says that this team do not need Fabregas. On the contrary, we believe that a player like the former Arsenal and Barcelona ace would not only add quality to the team but would also help Montella to swap system and try new formations.

Fabregas would be an important signing, not only in footballing terms. New Chinese owners would manage to get a big name without investing crazy money. Fabregas is still 29 and has plenty of International experience and AC Milan could only benefit from the arrival of the Spanish midfielder.
