Badelj emerges as AC Milan’s number one priority

With Riccardo Montolivo who has picked up a knee injury and will remain out of action for six months at least, AC Milan need to sign a new centre midfielder who can play in place of the unlucky Italy International.

As we also wrote yesterday, Product of academy Manuel Locatelli is going to be deployed as a short-time replacement for the experienced playmaker, but the rossoneri plan to sign a long-term replacement for the former Fiorentina captain in the January window.

Another player of Fiorentina has emerged as AC Milan’s priority target in the winter transfer window: Milan Badelj.

The Croat is a long time target of the rossoneri side, but having a contract expiring in 2018, Fiorentina have no more chances left to monetize his exit, before seeing him leaving the club as a free agent at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.

Badelj’s agent has already said that his client is not going to extend his stay at the Franchi and Fiorentina could be forced to sell him if they don’t want to lose money, like it already happened with the likes of Neto as Riccardo Montolivo who had failed to extend their contracts with La Viola moving to Juventus and Milan respectively.
