Miralem Pjanic moved to AS Roma on a € 11 million deal from Ligue 1 side Lyon in 2011. His delivers with the Giallorossi side were so bright and consistent that La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid have set their target on the Bosnia and Herzegovina International.

The 25 year old skills during this season are particularly shiny as he is the Giallorossi top-scorer with five goals and just as many assists in the first nine fixtures. Oddly, the former
Lyon starlet, has plundered four goals out of the total five from direct free kicks.

He opened his Serie A account with a screamer at the expenses of the Serie A rivals Juventus, adding two more against the relegation candidates Carpi and Empoli.
Yesterday night he netted from set-piece against the Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

Recently there has been only one player capable of scoring such a similar rate of free kicks
in Serie A: his name is Andrea Pirlo. You might have heard about him already.

Since 201, the former Juventus and Milan ace scored 12 goals from  free kicks, while the Roma star has just netted his 10th against Empoli.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina’s scoring percentage from set pieces, by the way, is higher than the MLS' star, who is not even featuring in the top five of this select band. Pjanic has the highest free kick scoring percentage of the whole Serie A since 2011: 15,5%.

In other words, he kicked 66 free kicks plundering ten.

    Miralem Pjanic, take a bow!
