In an interview with Le Parisien, Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani has been speaking about the rumours last summer linking him with a move away for the French capital. The Uruguayan explained that; “I have a contract with PSG that I want to respect. I have confidence in the club and the coach and my life will continue here for the time being”.
 

He continued; “Today I’m in Paris and I feel good but who knows what will happen in the future”. He then went into more details concerning those summer rumours explaining that; “I don’t know who started spreading the stories that I was unhappy here. I know everything is not as we would like at the moment but my happiness is also linked to my family and my children, not only football. Football is my job and I love it and will miss it when I retire so you cannot state that I’m unhappy just because things aren’t going well”.  

He went onto to explain that; “Now I’m happier on the field because I’m playing in my preferred role, in previous seasons I have had to respect the decisions of the coach. In the summer I spoke to the club and it was clarified that I would be the main striker this season”.
