Roma considering Maicon return
Roma are considering offering full-back Maicon another playing contract at the club. The 35-year-old former Brazilian international’s contract with the giallorossi expired in summer but since then he has been training at Trigoria and has already passed the necessary medicals to continue his playing career. Injury concerns have now prompted coach Luciano Spalletti to consider bringing him back into the squad.
Only yesterday, it was confirmed that Bruno Peres would be missing for up to two weeks and there is also the case of Mario Rui, who picked up a serious injury in pre-season. At the moment, the capital club only have Juan Jesus and Emersom Palmieri as regular full-backs with Alessandro Florenzi also having to adapt to the role. So after making 59 appearances in his three-year spell at the club, it seems possible that Maicon could return like a knight in shining armour to give the team a helping hand.
