Zenit St. Petersburg star Axel Witsel is not going to move to Juventus in the January transfer window. The Belgium International has already agreed personal terms to join the J Stadium, but the Russian club is not going to let the midfielder leave the club in the winter transfer window.

Witsel’s contract runs until June 2017 and the incoming transfer window is the only one Zenit can use to monetize the player’s exit as he’s not going to extend his stay at the club.

Witsel came close to moving to Juventus last summer completing an € 18 million move, but his transfer collapsed in the deadline day as Zenit eventually changed their mind demanding a higher price for the 27-year-old.

Juventus have already found economic agreement with the player but are only going to sign him for € 6 million, otherwise they will postpone the transfer to June, when the player is going to join the Serie A giants for free.

According to Eurosport, Zenit are not going to accept Juventus’ proposal and prefer losing the player at the end of the season for rather than selling him in January for just € 6 million.
