Editorial: Why Hernanes is a better choice for Juventus than Tomas Rincon

Today’s edition of Tuttosport opens with the title, “Rincon, muscles worthy of Juventus”, adding that this weekend’s game with Genoa will be the occasion to further discuss a swap for the Venezuelan international, one involving Hernanes.

And yet, ironically, it is the Brazilian who, in our opinion, is more suited to this Bianconeri team.

As poor as his movement has been, he has very good feet, something which may explain why he is still being called up.

Simply put, Rincon is a good player, but not one who deserves to be on this Juventus team. More importantly, if the Old Lady wants to truly compete with Europe’s elite, then she had better buy players who boast strong technical skills.

Tuttosport’s insistence on dynamic, strong players is misguided: the Bianconeri already have players like Marchisio, Khedira, Sturaro and Lemina in that department. Why further boost that particular area when they can go for someone with genuine quality?
