How Antonio Cassano turned Palermo down... TWICE!

Pubblicità

Though it wasn't the most overwhelming transfer deadline day we've experienced, yesterday could have offered us quite  the plot twist: namely, Antonio Cassano moving to Palermo.

Il Secolo XIX report that the Sampdoria striker was made two offers by the Rosanero, who are also owned and run by their own eccentric figure, Maurizio Zamparini.

The Genoese paper goes into quite some detail, claiming that the former Inter, Roma and Milan forward was offered a €600.000, one-year deal, with an automatic renewal if the Rosanero stayed up.

Cassano to Palermo would have been so perfect. Meanwhile, he's been frozen out of the squad at the Marassi, and has never felt more like deadweight than right now.
