Every good goalkeeper wants his defensive line to protect him so well that at the end of the game he doesn’t even want to have made one single save.

Unfortunately, there are just a few defenders in football that can prevent the opponents strikers to shoot on target at all and this week calciomercato.com has released a ranking featuring the 10 goalkeepers who have made the most saves through this Serie A campaign.

The only top club represented in the ranking is Inter as Samir Handanovic sits 4th with 44 saves made in 12 games.

Relegation candidates Bologna, Verona, Chievo and Frosinone’s goalkeepers are all featuring in the ranking.

Antonio Mirante has kept two successive clean sheet and he sits 9th in the top 10, just above Torino’s Daniele Padelli.

Marco Sportiello is probably the most interesting prospect emerged in the first 12 Serie A games. He made 48 saves, just like the top 10 leader Emiliano Viviano and one more than the 3rd ranked Stefano Sorrentino.
