Roma: Salah set to return for Juventus clash

After yesterday’s decision by the Lega Calcio to overturn Kevin Strootman’s two-match ban meaning he’s eligible to play against Milan on Monday and Juventus next weekend, there was potentially more good news today for coach Luciano Spalletti.

Latest medical reports concerning Egyptian striker Mo Salah indicate that the player could return in time to face the bianconeri in Turin next Saturday evening. It was thought that the 24-year-old would be ruled out until after the winter break with an ankle injury picked up in training, but now he could be ready to take his place in the starting XI next weekend.

The giallorossi will lose their star player in January as he heads off on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Egypt. The capital club have already been linked with possible replacements including Manchester United’s Memphis Depay. After last week’s derby win over Lazio, this latest news will give the squad a boost ahead of an important week in the context of the current season.
